“I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream.”

Have you found yourself quoting this old American recently? I did, on July 14th, when I received an e-mail that included information on the history of ice cream and the entrepreneur Tom Carvel, who established the first permanent ice cream stand in the United States. Then I wondered if any classical composers had written anything about ice cream.

Sure ‘nuf. Kurt Weill’s “Ice Cream Sextet” from Street Scene . Here it is with the Lexington Opera House and Michael Ehrman, Director, John Baril, Conductor.
