For Women’s History Month, we’ll be including some notable women guitarists on Fretworks during March.  On this Saturday’s program, Sharon Isbin will be back in music of Tarrega, and Martha Masters will play the lovely Cavatina by Alexandre Tansman.

Later in the month, we have the Chinese guitarist Xuefei Yang, Dale Kavanagh, of the Amadeus Duo, the Netherlands Guitar Duo includes Juun Voorhoeve, and Nicola Hall will play an arrangement of Nicolo Paganini’s Second Violin Concerto.

On this Saturday’s program, we also have Pepe Romero for a concerto by Ferdinando Carulli, Paul Galbraith will play some Haydn on his eight-string guitar, and David Russell has music by Emilio Pujol.

Join us for music of the classical guitar on Fretworks each Saturday evening from 7 to 8 pm here on Classical 101.

Sharon Isbin really gets around.  ere she is performing at the White House in 2009, playing Asturias by Isaac Albeniz and a waltz by Agustin Barrios:
