Kenji Bunch Changing the Face of “Classical” Music in 21st Century
The next time someone tells you classical music is boring music written by a bunch of dead white guys, Kenji Bunch begs to differ.
Kenji Bunch is doing his best to stretch classical music in directions not even he completely understands.
It wasn’t that long ago that Rock and Roll was being called the music of the devil. Â Yet before that, according to Bunch, the violin was being called the devil’s box. Â It was that idea which inspired an intriguing piece of music by the same name. Â He talks about it below.
Bunch has also teamed with a unique ensemble in Nashville. Â Unique not just because of what they play, but that the Grammy-nominated Alias Chamber Ensemble is an all-volunteer ensemble which donates 100% of its proceeds to other community-based nonprofits.
