Itzhak Perlman Accompanies – A Tuba? Your Monday Muppet Moment

I have a new appreciation for Itzhak Perlman after seeing several videos of him in, shall we say, unusual musical circumstances.  It began with John Williams and the Boston Pops.  Seems harmless enough, doesn’t it?  At least until Peter Schickele showed up.

Itzhak Perlman is one of those performers everyone needs to see live at least once in their life, no matter the cost.

A side of Perlman not often seen is his sense of humor. In the video above, he becomes the accompanist to a tuba playing to the Sesame Street Muppet Telly Monster, who at the time had a much low, gruff-sounding voice.

You can see him below as (semi) straight man to Professor Schickele.  Happy Monday!
