One writer described him as music’s James Dean.  He walked into the theater carrying a chair and rug with the appearance of having “fallen off the back of a truck.”

Yet for all of his quirks and idiosyncrasies, when Glenn Gould sat at a keyboard, he spun gold from it’s keys.

Since Central Ohio seems doomed to stay under water this year, I would suggest taking time to find a copy or a screening of the film Genius Within: The Inner Life of Glenn Gould.

Intimate friends who have never before spoken of Gould in public reveal a bit of what made the legendary pianist tick.  It’s your opportunity to take a peek behind the curtain to see what drove of this immensely talented, tortured man.
