Is That the End? An End-of-Summer Music Quiz
There are some great beginnings in music, classical and otherwise. Recently, listeners of BBC Radio 2 voted the beginning of Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love as the ‘Best Guitar Riff’ of all time. I have to say, I tend to agree.
There are some great openings in classical music, as we know. Beethoven’s 5th Symphony probably the best-known.
What about endings, though? While pop and rock songs can have some great beginnings, their endings are nothing to write home about. For that matter, while there are some great endings in classical music, some composers can’t seem to figure out how to stop.
With that in mind, here is an end-of-summer quiz from NPR’s Tom Huizenga to see how well you know your endings.
