The Juilliard School has announced plans to open a new facility in China, according to Strings magazine.
Tianjin City, in northeast China, will be the site of the new facility, which will likely offer musical instruction at the pre-college and post-conservatory levels.
A groundswell of interest in Western classical music in China is credited with fueling the creation of the Juilliard School’s first satellite venue outside New York City.
