Columbus Guitar Society Begins Season Saturday
If you love the beautiful sounds of the classical guitar, the Columbus Guitar Society is presenting its first concert of the season Saturday evening, 8pm October 27 at the Huntington Recital Hall on the Capital University campus in Bexley. Every year they bring exciting artists to Columbus for music with displays of dazzling virtuosity and also sensitive refinement and lush sonorities and textures in the wide-ranging repertoire for this wonderful instrument.
This evening, Russian guitar virtuoso Vladimir Gorbach will perform music by Piazzolla, Scarlatti, Giuliani and others. He was the first prize winner of the 2011 Guitar Foundation of America International Concert Artist Competition. From what I’ve heard on his recently-released Naxos CD and on YouTube, it promises to be a very enjoyable concert.
