A Swinging Friday with the Columbus Jazz Orchestra on 89-7

I will be two places at once this weekend, as we continue our four-part series of Columbus Jazz Orchestra concerts on 89-7 NPR News.

If you need an end-of-the-week break from the news grind, 89.7 NPR News and the Columbus Jazz Orchestra present Swingin’ with the CJO.

Each Friday evening in June, 89.7 FM will air a concert from the Columbus Jazz Orchestra’s Swingin’ at the Southern series.

Tonight, it’s Ragtime, Blues and Beyond: A Short History of Jazz spotlights classics from ragtime, blues and jazz and features saxophonist Tia Fuller and drummer Lewis Nash.

If you’ve ever been to a live CJO performance, you know that the music is always top notch, high-energy, and full of surprises.  With Byron Stripling at the helm, how could it be anything but?

So find a good seat on your patio with a cool beverage and tune to 89.7 NPR News Friday nights at 7 PM to “Swing with the Columbus Jazz Orchestra!”
