The next Classical Showcase Friday evening at 7 on Classical 101 features the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra in a program that reflects Canadian culture and the Manitoba province in particular. This concert is part of the Spring for Music Series at Carnegie Hall in New York City that we’ve been presenting this past month.
When the Dust Settles at the Columbus Museum of Art
Listen to the Story
WOSU’s Christopher Purdy and CMA Executive Director Nannette Maciejunes talk about the renovation of the Columbus Museum of Art. The dust will settle soon.
In the meantime, The Columbus Museum of Art has made some big changes. The renovation of our Elizabeth M. and Richard M. Ross Building and new Center for Creativity will be complete soon. The result is a more engaging and exciting space for all ages.
Join the Museum January 1, 2011 for the New CMA on New Year’s Day. This free community celebration begins on the Broad Street lawn with hot chocolate, roasted chestnuts, music, loads of confetti (biodegradable, of course) and a grand unveiling and ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Start the New Year with a resolution to share the new CMA experience with friends, neighbors, and the extended Central Ohio community.
A big part of CMA’s renovation is the transformation of Derby Court, the central courtyard area in the museum. Watch this video to see how equipment was lifted by crane and lowered through the roof into the courtyard. The floor of Derby Court was then jackhammered and removed in preparation for a new floor.
UPDATE (12/20): Nannette Maciejunes Introduces CMA’s newly-renovated historic building
