On May 10, 1869, workers drove the so-called “golden spike”spike through railroad ties joining the Union Pacific Railroad with the Central Pacific Railroad. Saturday evening on The American Sound, hear American composer George Antheil’s “Golden Spike,” inspired by America’s transcontinental railroad.
Photography’s Back to the Future at the Riffe Gallery thru July 7
Curated by the Columbus Museum of Art’s photography expert, Catherine Evans (William and Sara Soter Curator of Photography), this exhibit looks at the vibrant state of photography in Ohio..from darkrooms (yes..artists still use those) to cutting edge digital technology.
The Ohio Arts Council’s Riffe Gallery showcases the work of Ohio’s artists and the collections of the state’s museums and galleries. The Riffe Gallery is located in the Vern Riffe Center for the Government and the Arts, across from the Statehouse on High Street in Downtown Columbus.
