Young Adult Fiction Comes of Age

Young adult books like “The Hunger Games,” “Twilight,” and even “Harry Potter” are now being read by not only young adults, but adults of all ages. Young adult fiction has taken the book world by storm, and it will only get bigger as hits keep releasing. On this hour of “All Sides,” we’ll talk with Ohio-born young adult authors about their books and the genre of young adult fiction.

The 2012 Ohioana Book Festival will take place May 12, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center. The event is free and open to the public. Click here for more information.

Young Adult fiction is rising fast.  When I was a teenager I had to make the leap between children’s books straight to adult.  My mum spent hours scouring market stalls for adult books with children or young people in to help me bridge the gap.  Thanks to my mum I kept on reading and now write YA fiction.  I read some adult fiction but I love YA for the fast paced gritty stories which keep me turning those pages and eager to pick up the next book.
