The Role of Women in the Catholic Church Going Forward
Nuns are not lay persons or clergy. They are “professed religious,” as are their male counterparts, Christian brothers. There are three categories of involvement in the Catholic Church: clergy, professed religious, and lay. Women are still forbidden in one category: clergy. We’ll take a look at the evolving role of women in the Catholic Church.
