One slow cooker can make endless variations of meals. From chocolate chip cookies, to pea curry- discover what endless treats and meals are possible.

One machine can do a lot of work. From entrees to delicious desserts, the slow cooker is an easy way to go gourmet. It’s time to make your slow cooker sophisticated!

Lynn Alley, a freelance food and wine journalist, is the author of “The Gourmet Vegetarian Slow Cooker: Simple and Sophisticated Meals from Around the World.”

Alley joined All Sides with Ann Fisher to talk about the technique and art in using a slow cooker. Alley said in the past the slow cooker has been looked down on, but more recently, has become more widely accepted.

“I personally do not like digital slow cookers. That’s just one more thing to break down,” Alley said. “I like the good old-fashioned dial ones.”

The book includes recipes for breakfast, soups, main dishes, sides and deserts. All recipes are paired with a drink, all are vegetarian, and some are vegan.

Pledge today!

“The truth of the matter is, when I’m donating to my local station, I give what I can afford to give,” Alley said.

Also included with the book is the WOSU member card. With this card you can receive discounts at over 200 local businesses and attractions.
