Sexual Abuse of Children

The sexual-abuse allegations against retired Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky have raised many questions. Why was it not reported long ago? And, if the allegations are true, what can we do to prevent it from happening again? This hour we speak with the co-founder of an organization that represents males who are sexually abused, and an attorney who has represented victims of sexual abuse.

What are the legal rights of an individual accused of child sex abuse? What legal issues are raised when the witness is a child, or the case involves an accusation of childhood abuse from long ago? This segment we speak with a criminal defense attorney who represents persons accused of child sexual abuse.

My concern is for these victims , (no longer children) who had no one to tell 10 or 15 years ago, are now addicted to drugs or worse, in jail for a criminal act, because of the dammage done by THAT abuse. SEX ABUSE of children is deeply damaging. There are many many that may not come forth. Any one who did not make it stop 10 or 15 years ago is just as bad guilty as the one doing the abuse.
