Protecting African Wildlife in their Own Land
Tony Raymond Fitzjohn, OBE, is field director of the George Adamson Wildlife Preservation Trust, where he works with the Government of Tanzania to rehabilitate Mkomazi National Park. In all, he has spent more than forty years re-introducing lions, leopards, rhinos and African hunting dogs to the wild.
Fitzjohn was the protege of George Adamson, whose wife Joy’s book Born free: A Lioness of Two Worlds inspired the award-winning movie Born Free. Picking up where Born Free left off is Born Wild, the new book by Fitzjohn, who worked with George Adamson for 17 years at his lion preserve in Kenya. He has continued fight for African wildlife to live in dignity in their own land.
