Discussion of Sexual Violence in our Culture

My son was 15 when he got up at night to go in the room where his sister and a friend were sleeping.  He touched the friend’s breast.  He is on the Asperger’s spectrum, but high functioning.   The girl was only 12, so he is being prosecuted as a sex offender.  He (and our whole family) have been trying to negotiate the system for two years now. This compares to the extreme forms of “zero tolerance” we see when an elementary student brings a butter knife to school.
