Climbing Mount Everest/Environmental Effects of Tourism on Everest
Two members of the ninth British Expedition, New Zeakander Edmund Hillary and Tezing Norgay were the first to climb Mt. Everest nearly 60 years ago. Many more have followed in their foot steps since then. On this hour of “All Sides,” we will talk to two seasoned climbers; one even participated in the historical 1999 expedition. The other is the son of the first American to climb the Summit. We also hear from a climber who’s climbed the highest natural point in all 50 states.
