COLUMBUS, OHIO, DECEMBER 4, 2012 — WOSU TV will have the exclusive broadcast premiere of ‘The Ohio State University Holiday Extravaganza 2012’ on December 9 at 8 p.m.
‘The Ohio State University Holiday Extravaganza 2012’, to air in true HD, is an hour-long feature of the best of the 20th Annual School of Music Celebration Concert presented last month for a capacity crowd at the Mershon Auditorium.
Highlights will include performances from more than 400 musicians in the fourteen ensembles who participated in the program with pieces by composers ranging from Eric Clapton to George Friedrich Handel.
The collaborations between WOSU Public Media and The Ohio State University’s School of Music have been extensive. “We have enjoyed a strong partnership with WOSU for decades, and not only has it been mutually beneficial, but also critical to the arts community, for no music is made without collaboration,” said Richard Blatti, Director of The Ohio State University School of Music.
Robert Ward, Director of Choral Activities at the School of Music, adds, “We are excited about our collaboration with WOSU TV and expanding our concert audience with this televised broadcast.”
‘The Ohio State University Holiday Extravaganza 2012’ can also be heard as an audio program on Classical 101 FM on December 16 at 3 p.m. and again on December 25 at 7 p.m. It will re-air December 25 at 8 p.m. on WOSU TV.
