EEO Reports

Equal opportunity in employment shall be afforded by all radio and television station licensees to all qualified persons, and no person shall be discriminated against in employment by such stations because of race, color, religion, national origin, or sex. Each broadcast station shall establish, maintain, and carry out a positive continuing program of specific practices designed to ensure equal opportunity and nondiscrimination in every aspect of station employment policy and practice. (Code of Federal Regulations – 73.2080)

The FCC requires stations to retain records to document that the station has satisfied these requirements. WOSU Public Media does this in the form of an annual EEO report, created on June 1st of each year. The report includes a listing of all vacancies, the recruitment sources used to fill the vacancies, the number of candidates interviewed and other related information.

The FCC requires that these reports, which may be maintained in an electronic format, shall be placed in the stations’™ public file and retained until after grant of the renewal application for the license term during which the vacancy was filled. WOSU filed for a license renewal in 2012 and will do so again in 2020.
